Winter hikes

We've had a really mild winter here this year, so not much snow in the state in general and really none in Albuquerque. The east mountains always gets more snow, so we took a couple of hikes there in the past month to get our fix!

The first hike was in the Juan Thomas Open Space, which is a pretty leisurely 3.5 mile loop that we've done before on our bikes.

The second was the 10k trail, which we had not tried yet, and it was a little tough to really follow the trail at times because of all the snow!

I definitely want to go back and do this one again in the spring because we took a wrong turn and had to back track, so I don't think we really traversed the whole trail.

We've also discovered recently that New Mexico actually has a booming wine industry and some pretty great vineyards close to Albuquerque.  We tried out Corrales Winery back in February, and their peppery Cabernet was delicious!

Definitely looking forward to trying out more local vineyards!
